Antonio Pelayo Productions Announces “La Bulla: A Lucha Libre Experience”

Live Action-Packed Mexican Wrestling, Concert & Art Exhibit

Blue Demon Jr. vs. Sam Adonis

Antonio Pelayo Productions announced today, the 3rd Annual La Bulla: A Lucha Libre Experience, a live, action-packed, Mexican wrestling match between world famous Mexican wrestler “luchador” Blue Demon Jr., and professional wrestler and Mexico’s ultimate ring villain, Sam Adonis. The jaw-dropping, high-impact match or “lucha libre” (free fight) will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2017, 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM at Plaza De La Raza, 3540 N. Mission Road, Los Angeles, CA 90031.

La Bulla is co-hosted by Denise Ruiz and Joe Energy, and musical performances featuring Cumbia, Salsa, and Merengue bands La Chamba and Subsuelo will keep event-goers dancing all night long. The backstage action will be hosted by Calipso, along with entertainment by DJ Thrive & Chrisrox.

Antonio Pelayo Productions, has succeeded in keeping the classic lucha libre of the 50’s and 60’s alive and well while bringing his own flare to each event.

“It’s important that our lucha libre events keep their authenticity,” said Pelayo. “The live lucha libre matches must retain their classic noir feel yet we’ve also contemporized them by combining them with art and a live concert… it is important to our community to keep this form of live entertainment thriving in the U.S.”

The lucha libre match between Blue Demon Jr. and Sam Adonis will no doubt be a magnificent crowd-pleaser for event-goers and professional wrestling aficionados alike.

Current NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Blue Demon Jr., is the son of legendary lucha libre masked wrestler, Blue Demon whose career took off in 1952, after his match with El Santo, who is considered Mexico’s greatest luchador of all time. Much to El Santo’s surprise, he found a contemporary in Blue Demon. Inside the ring, son Blue Demon Jr. is a villain, but outside the ring, he is a philanthropist beloved for his selfless charity work, especially with children stricken with cancer, proving that not all demons are bad.

Sam Polinsky aka Sam Adonis, is an American wrestler of the wrestling circuit in Mexico City. He engages and incites the audience for being a strong pro-Donald Trump supporter. As both the U.S. and Mexico are currently arguing about who is going to build the wall, Adonis has no problem telling fans who should pay for it. “Well, you can imagine how Latinos respond to him,” Pelayo laughed. “He’s a pro-Trump wrestler and in Mexico, he’s known as the ultimate ring villain.”

The art exhibition is curated by Johnny Quintana, and will feature special guest artist Mr. Cartoon and some of the most talented local Chicano artists in LA including: Johnny Rodriguez, Freddy Negrete, Alan Padilla, Carlos Ramirez (Datefarmers), Gustavo Rimada, Zoro Rodriguez, Chuey Quintanar, Fonzy, Franco Vescovi, Man One, among many other.
