Set your DVRs because the beautiful Julie Carmen will be on Noches Con Platanito on Tuesday, July 7th, from 9PM-11PM (EST/PST) and 8PM-10PM (CST) on EstrellaTV — check your local listings. Julie goes toe to toe with the famous nighttime clown host, Sergio Verduzco, on the issue of the human consequences of violence that is caused by racism and xenophobia. The appearance is just in time to spotlight her current role as Laura Rivera in the controversial indie, Dawn Patrol, epitomizes the worst case scenario of racial profiling and mistaken identity. Dawn Patrol is now available on iTunes and Video on Demand, after its national release.
Estrella TV’s Noches Con Platanito is fast becoming one of the most popular daily Spanish-language TV night shows appealing to U.S. Latino talent and celebrities and non-Latino guests who are bilingual or not. Although New York born Julie nails the interview in Spanish, speaking the ‘mother tongue is not a requirement but one of the reasons why this Spanish-language show has found a fast growing audience of Latinos living in America. I welcome the opportunity to talk about the dysfunctional family portrayed in our film, which does not sugar coat racist attitudes that cause multiple tragedies,” said Carmen.
Since the fall of 2013 Noches Con Platanito has been booking U.S. Latino talent (some who speak Spanish and some who don’t) on the show. L.A.), Lisa Vidal (Being Mary Jane).
