Jennifer Lopez’s Mothers I’d Like To… is a go at Universal
Jennifer Lopez is putting her producing hat back on, in between her American Idol duties. Lopez is partnering up again with Univeral, who released her last film The Boy Next Door, to produce a comedy entitled Mothers I’d Like To… Its a comedy which will be written by Mark Perez based on and idea by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas. That is all sources will divulge, only to say that it is a cross between Bridesmaids and First Wives Club and a star vehicle for Lopez.
Perez honed his writing skills at the Disney Feature Writing Program, and is having much success of late. He wrote the script Game Night starring Jason Bateman, currently in development and he working on a novel for Dark Horse Books, How To Win At Life By Cheating At Everything.
Lopez’ Nuyorican Productions is producing, along with Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina. Vincent Newman will be executive producer and Priscilla Porianda will co-produce.
Executive Producer Sofia Vergara and Resse Witherspoon are in Hot Pursuit!
The trailer is out on Hot Pursuit which stars Sofia Vergara and Resse Witherspoon. This time Vergara not only stars but is executive producer. The premise? An inept police officer must protect the widow of a drug dealer from criminals and dirty policemen. Stereotypical? Check it out for yourself, the Warner Bros. release is directed by Anne Fletcher opens May 8th
The one great thing about Sofia is that she has no problem laughing at herself while making people laugh at with her, of her some would say, stereotypical roles. It’s how she’s build her career, not only as an actress but she her increasing producer credits. In this film she is one of the executive producer and Witherspoon producing as well. Vergara is savvy enough to know that making fun at herself gets eyeballs on the screen. Here she is poking fun at herself with a little help from Ellen DeGeneres and Witherspoon — all to promote her new film!
