iHeartMedia and Live Nation Co-Produces The Inaugural Festival
JCPenneys, one of the sponsors for the inaugural iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina presented by Sprint at The Forum, decided to take this opportunity and ask the question “Is it better to give or to receive?” They opted to “give” and invited over a dozen Latina journalists and bloggers for a memorable day of pampering and then to attend the inaugural iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina concert at the Forum to see Latino music’s top talent perform! We #JustGotJingled — translation #MeNavidearon!
This year I have gone to more concerts than I have in the past 10 years. I know, unbelievable. However, last week at the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina concert tipped the scale. 2014 is now officially the year I became a concert fanatic.
I was one of the lucky journalist JCPenney invited to their VIP Media Lounge and Glam Suite.
Make Up by Erin
Styled by Joey Tierney (R) & her asst.
We arrived at the Sunset Marquis to a cottage hidden behind a beautiful wall of foliage (rumor was Kevin Costner had stayed in this same cottage just a few days before!). The cottage was done up in full JCPenneys display everything down to the plate settings…it looked beautiful. The VIP Media Glam Suite included a room for hair styling, complete with all the fixings of a salon you would find at JCPenneys’ and a Sephora make up room! Upstairs were racks of beautiful clothes, and then there was the accessory room filled with handbags, earrings, and necklaces to be used to dress up your outfit. We were like woman in fashion heaven! What woman doesn’t like to get pampered, have their hair and makeup done by professionals? Then be styled by none other than Joey Tierney (stylist to Kristen Bell & Diana Agron). By the time we finished I was ready for “my close up” at the concert dressed in a beautiful black Worthington jumpsuit, a Bisou Bisou jacket, my silver stud earrings and my Jada Brave leopard purse (almost didn’t do the leopard but Joey’s great eye completed the look to a T!)
After all the “dress up” fun we were ready for lunch and it was off to the first floor of the cottage where all the ladies got to chat and become BFFs before we were all limo’ed to the meet and greet at the Forum. With wine glass (OK plastic cup) on hand, our limo driver whisked us away, accommodating our request for Latin music as we got into concert mode and ready for the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina concert.
Arriving at the Forum with my fellow journalists
We arrived at dusk or “magic hour” as they call it in the biz, picked up our VIP passes headed straight to the Forum VIP lounge and got the party started (literally, as we were some of the first guests to arrive). More food and spirits.
The buzz was building as more and more guest began to arrive. One more treat before the concert, we were invited to travel through the Forum’s halls of fame, as we walked to the Meet and Greet with borther and sister music duo Jesse & Joy. Pictures of the world’s most famous artists adorn the hallway walls. To think they also walked these halls! Poof, the photographer flashes as he takes our picture with Jesse & Joy.
Then it was concert time and we walked ever closer to the stage — front row seats! I can get used to this. The Forum is still as impressive as I remembered and more so with a packed house of screaming fans. With each act the the excitement was cranked up another notch and the fans got louder.
Hanging with my HOLA! LA co-host Naibe Reynoso
One of the best parts of the day was that I got to share this great event with some of the most notable Latina journalists and bloggers. In particular I was especially excited to share the day with Naibe Reynoso, an Emmy-award winning journalist and my fellow co-host on the TV talk show HOLA! LA (airing CBS2/KCAL9), and her daughter Giselle.
The concert was a wave of musical hottness with Latino soloist, bands, and duets bringing the power and unforgettable performances of such luminaries as Ricky Martin, Pitbull, J. Balvin, Becky G, Roberto Tapia, Alejandra Guzmán, Prince Royce, La Original Banda El Limón with special guest appearances by Voz A Voz, Daddy Yankee, and Jesse & Joy to the Forum in Los Angeles.

Adding to the star power were special guest presenters Chiquis Rivera, Oscar de la Hoya, Christina Milian, Maria Canals-Barrera (Cristela) and Selenis Leyva and Dascha Polanco of Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, as well as iHeartMedia personalities and hosts for the evening Ryan Seacrest, Mario Lopez and El Mandril.
Enjoying the concert with Giselle and Naibe Reynoso
Pitbull closed the evening with an over-the-top performance of some of his biggest hits, including Give Me Everything Tonight and his new hot single Fireball.
JCPenneys was so wonderful to invite us to enjoy this special day, all they asked was for us to “Pass along a good deed to warm someone’s heart. Pick someone to Jingle!” You will fnd out the answer to their question “Is it better to give or to receive?” this holiday season. Let’s spread the spirit of giving and get ready to hear “I #JustGotJingled…#MeNavidearon!”
