Ivonne Coll to Guest Star on Sitcom ‘One Day At a Time’

Los Angeles, CA – Actress Ivonne Coll (Jane The Virgin) has been cast to guest star in the second season of Netflix’s sitcom One Day At a Time, originally created by Norman Lear and adapted for an all Latino cast in the lead roles.

Coll, who plays the character of Alba Villanueva, a devout Catholic grandmother and a big fan of ‘telenovelas’ on Jane the Virgin, will now play the role of Esme, the new love interest for Dr. Berkowitz, played by Stephen Tobolowsky, in an upcoming episode of the renewed Netflix’s multi-camera comedy.

The new version or One Day at a Time, is about a Cuban-American family and centers on a recently separated, former military mom, played by actress Justina Machado who is navigating a new single life while raising her radical teenage daughter, played by Isabella Gomez, and socially adept tween son (Marcel Ruiz).

Coll will once again work with with Oscar winner actress Rita Moreno, who has previously made appearances inJane the Virgin playing the imperious diva and mother of Rogelio de La Vega. (Jaime Camill)

Gloria Calderon Kellett is the showrunner and executive produces along with Lear, Mike Royce, Brent Miller and Michael Garcia.

Netflix has ordered 13 episodes for the second season.
