On Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on July 31 From Lionsgate

Eugenio Derbez (How to be a Latin Lover, Instructions not Included), Anna Faris (The house Bunny, TV’s “Mom”) and Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria (Best Actress, TV’s Desperate Housewives in 2006), and character actor Mel Rodriguez star in Overboard, this hilarious fresh take on the classic, much loved romantic comedy that originally starred Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. MGM/Pantelion’s hilarious comedy is set for a digital release on July 17th with the Blu-ray combo pack and DVD release on July 31 from Lionsgate.
According to Box Office Mojo, Overboard became the highest grossing theatrical release of Lionsgate/ Pantelion at $50 million dollars Boxoffice topping the 44.48 million for the previous Instructions not Included and the 32 million for How to be a Latin Lover. Derbez is the most successful crossover Mexican comedian since Mario “Cantinflas” Moreno.
Derbez and producing partner Benjamin Odell’s 3Pas Studios signed an exclusive producing deal with Pantelion. Under the agreement, 3Pas will produce English and Spanish-language series for the company’s Television Group as well as Lionsgate streaming platforms such as the recently-launched premium OTT service Pantaya.
Overboard reverses the roles from the original film starring Derbez as a spoiled wealthy yacht owner who becomes the target of revenge from his mistreated employee played by Faris. Leonardo (Derbez) a selfish spoiled rich playboy from Mexico’s richest family and Kate (Faris), a working-class single mother of three is hired to clean Leonardo’s luxury yacht. After unjustly firing Kate and refusing to pay her, Leonardo falls overboard when partying too hard and wakes up on the Oregon coast with amnesia. Kate shows up at the hospital and, to get payback convinces him he is her husband and puts him to work for the first time in his life. At first miserable and inept, Leonardo slowly settles in. Eventually, he earns the respect of his new family and coworkers. But with Leonardo’s millionaire family hot on their trail and the possibility of his memory returning at any time, will the new family last or will Leonardo finally put the clues together and leave for good?
