Miami, FL  – Latino Leaders Magazine has named Manny Ruiz, chairman and founder of the Hispanicize brand of companies that include the annual Hispanicize event, Hispanicize digital and Hispanicize Wire, to its list of the “101 Most Influential Latinos of 2013.”

An award-winning media entrepreneur, former journalist and marketing industry leader, Ruiz joins illustrious company atop this year’s list. Among the eighth annual list of 101 Latinos are Carlos Santana, Robert Rodriguez, Eva Longoria, Maria Hinojosa, Soledad O’Brien, Cesar Conde, Edward James Olmos, Jennifer Lopez, Julian Castro and Ruben Navarrette.

In compiling this year’s list, the magazine’s editorial team noted, “from corporate powerhouses to your favorite local mayors, these people are the face of the Latino population in America and serve as inspiration to all up-and-coming successors… we want to display the significance of influence over power. These are leaders who, when they talk, people listen to and trust in them, all while looking up to them for advice. These are the leaders who inspire people to be better.”

The magazine specifically commended Ruiz for creating the annual Hispanicize event, the annual multi-industry Latino trends event as well as for founding the industry leading trade web site the Hispanic PR Blog with his wife Angela and for publishing his personal blog PapiBlogger. Ruiz’s Hispanicize holdings include the Latina Mom Bloggers network as well as a sizable interest in Being Latino and DigiBunch.

Latino Leaders’ editorial team choose this year’s list in combination with a group of trusted advisers that spent months “researching and comparing recommendations from inside sources.” The key question they said they asked themselves was “what have they done within the past year.”
