Young Latino Thespian Cast As Computer Whiz Kid
Actor, Harvey Guillen has been cast to MTV’s new drama series Eye Candy working along side of teen TV queen, Victoria Justice. MTV announced it has handed out a 10-episode series order for Eye Candy.
Eye Candy, a cyber thrilled based on R.L. Stine’s (Goosebumps) bestseller, stars Victoria Justice (Victorious) as Lindy, a tech genius who is convinced by her roommate to begin online dating and begins to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors may be a deadly cyber stalker-killer.
Guillen who at a young age is racking up an impressive list of film and TV credits—Aztec Warrior (2014), The Interns (2013), The First Family (2013), Team Unicorn, Raising Hope, and Huge among others, is thrilled to be cast in positive, non-stereotypical Latino roles.
“I’m so excited to get to play Juan,” said Guillen, “a really smart young Latino computer whiz kid—a great role model—and excited to start this amazing project with MTV and Victoria Justice.”
Eye Candy mystery takes place in Manhattan, where Lindy (Justice) and her friends, teaming with a band of hackers, works to resolve the murders… which one of Lindy’s dates is the killer… the team set out to redefine justice on the streets of New York.
Emmy Grinwis has been tapped to write the script and co-executive produce the drama. Jason Blue (Paranormal Activity) executive produces via his Blumhouse Productions banner. Also on board as Executive Producers are Yvonne Bernard, Beth Elise Hawk and Catherine Hardwicke.
