Greg Garcia
Apparently for Greg Garcia it is not all under the bridge with NBC. Garcia’s Raising Hope included a scene that takes a jab at NBC for abruptly canceling his hit show four years ago… you have to see the video below.
Garcia admits that “I didn’t write the joke, but the writer who did knew I would leave it in. Anyway, it’s all water under the bridge. Just a funny way to end a scene.”
In the February 26th episode of Fox’s Raising Hope there are many Earl references, which is a reunion of the NBC comedy stars: Jason Lee, Jaime Pressly, Ethan Suplee, Eddie Steeples, Nadine Velasquez and Abdoulaye N’Gom. “There’s a lot of Earl jokes throughout,” Garcia said. “I enjoyed it very much. Not sure if anyone else will.”
Should we ask NBC? The scene ends with Rasing Hope’s Burt (Garret Dillahunt) kicks the NBC President (Graham Clarke) in the pelotas over Earl’s cancellation.
Something You May Not Know:
Gregory Thomas Garcia is the creator of Fox’s Raising Hope and NBC’s My Name Is Earl (2005-09) and is one of the darn good comedy writer! Garcia got his start after participating in the Warner Bros. Writing for TV Courses which ultimately opened the door for him as a Hollywood writer. A lot of fans were upset when NBC unceremoniously cancelled the hit series Earl in May of 2009. Rumor is the network wanted a joke taken out and Garcia must have not gotten the memo because he left it in.
