Gloria Calderon Kellet’s TV Comedy “History of Them” Lands at CBS

Hollywood, CA —  On Day at a Time executive producer Gloria Calderon Kellett’s social media/family oriented comedy script History of Them has landed at CBS who will be co-producing along withSony Pictures TV Studios where she has an overall first look deal, as reported in an exclusive on Deadline Hollywood.

Calderon Kellett, who began her writing career writing a play Plane Strangers, which was awarded a Kennedy Center/ACTF Achievement in Playwriting.  Armed with a BA in communications and theater arts from Loyola Marymount University, Calderon Kellett decided to take a well-rounded approach into her entry into Hollywood.  In addition to attended courses at the Writers Boot Camp in Santa Monica she has written and performed stand-up; her film script  Passengers and Drivers was a semi-finalist for the first Project Greenlight; and  she also worked for Academy Award winning writer/director Cameron Crowe on Vanilla Sky.

Since then her education and writing skills have taken her on a high rise to the top, where she sits at the moment as co-showrunner for Netflix’s One Day At a Time.  She has honed her writing and producing talents working on  many popular TV shows which include, CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, Lifetime’s Devious Maids, ABC’s Mixology and more recently the CW iZomibie.  Her latest One Day At a Time has receive both critical and audience favor.

History Of Them is said to be semi-autobiographical History Of Them and a romantic comedy about two friends who fall in love.  The story is narrated by their future daughter, using the couple’s social media from present-day (Instagram/Twitter/Facebook) which serves as a guide for multi-cultural relationships.

Caldedon Kellett is known to use her own personal life as an inspiration for her work. One Day at a Time which was co-created with co-showrunner Mike Royce, is remake of Normal Lear’s classic 1970 sitcom.  She delved into her own Cuban background to reimagine Lear’s characters with a Cuban flavor.
