Glamour Honors Hispanic Women

Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria Honored

Britain’s Glamour Awards celebrated the power of some of the leading Hispanic women in the industry. As a super-mom, Jessica Alba (Machete) got recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year for her business, The Honest Company, which serves the health of babies by creating 100% natural baby products and household cleaners range. Alba has been busy working on three major films set to open in 2013—Machete Kills (Robert Rodriguez, Director/ 20th Century Fox Films), Escape From Planet Earth (Callan Brunker, Director/Weinstein Co.), and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller, Directors/Weinstein Co.).

Eva Longoria (For Greater Glory/Producers Pablo Jose Barroso & Sandra Solares/Newland Films) received special honors of Inspiration of the Year for her own charity, The Eva Longoria Foundation, where she helps young Latinas on the field of education. Longoria retired her adulteress ways on ABC’s Desperate Housewives and now has time to commit to her favorite charity and political causes. She continues as spokesperson for Padres Contra El Cancer, will co-host the 2012 Alma Awards (NBC, Sept. 21st, 8/7C) with George Lopez, she’s also the face for L’Oreal and is on the National Co-Chair of President Barack Obama’s campaign advocating for women and Latinos.
