NUVO Point of View: The Emerging Latino Filmmakers Showcase hosted by actress Gina Rodriguez premieres tonight.  The films selected for the NUVO Point of View were chosen out of 200 submissions.  The series allows the talented writers, producers, and directors to showcase their film to a national audience.  The opening film in the series is Aaref Rodriguez’s Avenues at 8pm on the NUVOtv cable network.

NUVO Point of View: The Emerging Latino Filmmakers Showcase is a three hour special that will showcase four original shorts William Caballero’s How you Doing Danny Boy: Voicemails from Gran’pa; Antonio Perez’s horror flick Luna; and Francisco Lorite’s short film Meditation which stars Freddy Rodriguez (Six Feet Under) and Aaref’s feature film Avenues.

Avenues is a gripping drama that tell a story of a man trying to figure out his role as a father after being release from a decade long prison sentence.
