Gina Brillon to Star in Kevin James’ New Comedy Series at CBS

Los Angeles, CA – After wining NBC’s Stand up for Diversity Showcase in 2012, comedian Gina Brillon has been given the opportunity to star and produce a new multi-camera comedy at CBS. The show which will be executive produced by Kevin James (Kevin Can Wait, The King of Queens) is inspired by Brillon’s stand-up comedy.

The untitled project centers on Gina, who in 2012 became the first Latina winner of  the NBC’s comedy showcase, is all about her.  When her seven-year relationship suddenly ends, her character moves from the Bronx to Manhattan to pursue her dreams.

Writer Adam Barr (Will & Grace, The New Adventures of Old Christine) has been tapped to write the new CBS sitcom.The project hails from Sony Pictures Television.

James, the Kevin Can Wait Star will serve as executive producer alongside Jeff Sussman, Juddy Marmel, Chris Mazilli, and Nina Howie will  serve as a co-executive producer.
