George Lopez to Host “The World Dog Awards”


The phrase “It’s a dog life” does not mean what it used to. With specialty food, dog clothing lines, dog hotels, resorts and spas and now with the CW’s The World Dog Award, airing on January 15, 2015 to celebrate canines, its good to be a dog!

The CW Network announced today that George Lopez (George Lopez, Beverly Hills Chihuahua) will serve as host for the inaugural The World Dog Award, making its debut Thursday, January 15 (8:00-10:00 pm ET), on The CW Network.

The categories for run the gamut including Best in Film, Top TV Dog, Dog of The Year Fans Can Also Vote Online on Categories Such as Most Pawpular, Hot Dog and America’s Top Mutt Dog-Loving.

Filmed at the aptly named Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on Saturday, January 10, The World Dog Award will combine the glamour of a Hollywood awards show with the appreciation for man’s best friend.

Lopez as the choice to host this awards show makes sense since he has voiced on of the most famous film screen dog star, Papi in the three Beverly Hills Chihuahua films.

Other dog lover celebrities who will be appearing as presenters include Beth Behrs, Ian Somerhalder, JB Smoove, Jason Gann, Justin Silver, Lance Bass, Lisa Vanderpump, Mark Feuerstein, Nikki Reed, Perrey Reeves, Andy Cohen, Robert Herjavec, Ross Mathews, G. Hannelius and Many More

Lopez will next be seen in Lionsgate’s inspirational drama Spare Parts, which he produced and releases on January 16th.  Watch Trailer HERE
