Eva Longoria Set as Keynote Speaker at the NALIP Media Summit


Actress/director and producer Eva Longoria has been announced as keynote speaker at the 16th NALIP Media Summit Luncheon on June 26th at the W Hollywood Hotel on June 26th.

Longoria’s whose rise to international stardom came about playing Gabrielle Solis in ABC’s Desperate Housewives has parlayed that into a career that has expanded into the arena of productng and direction (Devious Maids). This year through her production company Unbelievable, she had a record eight TV pilots up for a possible pilot pick-up, one of them Telenovela received a straight to series order. Longoria will star and executive produce.

Longoria will share her experience and insights garnered through her work as actress/producer/director; her activism including worker rights through her documentaries (Food Chains, The Harvest); being a spokesperson for charities that deal with health issues; and politically, from being a speaker at the Democratic Convention in 2012 to now producing Our Time about the power of the Latino vote.


The NALIP Media Summit is one of the largest annual gathering of Latinos in media nationwide, the summit is presented by HBO and hosted by the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. This year’s theme, “Creating Tomorrow, Together” will gather content creators, industry executives and media for four days of panels, workshops, screenings and showcases relating to advances and challenges of the Latino media community.

“We are encouraged by the strides Latinos have made in media and entertainment this year, and we look forward to bringing this excitement to the 2015 NALIP Media Summit. We want to foster a new vision where, within this convergence, Latinos are a vibrant force within the mass market,” said NALIP executive director Axel Caballero.

The Latino Media Market, a signature program of NALIP, which brings together producers, studio execs, financiers, distributors to focus on selected project and help move them forwared will run concurrently with the summit on June 26-27. The Latino Media Awards which honor the best of Latino media makers will also held during the summit and this year will be presented June 27th.
