One of TV’s most watched shows is losing one of its main stars
When NCSI returns for it’s 11th season on September 24th, Cote de Pablo is ready to end her character’s storyline… we just hope Ziva David does not die.
“I’ve had eight great years with NCIS and Ziva David,” de Pablo said, adding that she has “huge respect and affection” for the “NCIS” team and the network. “I look forward to finishing Ziva’s story.”
CBS, meanwhile, said it respected the actress’ decision to leave the series, which drew 18.2 million total viewers with its most recent season finale in May.
“We respect Cote’s decision, thank her for being an important part of the NCIS team and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David,” the statement said. “Cote and CBS share a great respect for the NCIS audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this chapter of Ziva’s story.”
Cote started her television career with a hosting role in the 1994 show Control alongside of host Carlos Ponce. She went on to small roles on soaps such as All My Children and other shows. In 2005 she played Dolores Fuentes in the stage musical “The Mambo Kings” and later was cast as Israel’s Mossad officer Ziva David on NCIS alongside Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, David McCallum, Sean Murray, Lauren Holly. Her role on TV’s most watched entertainment program as made Cote a television star.
NCIS fans will have a hard time saying goodbye to Ziva. Best wishes to you, Cote de Pablo!
