Spanish Director Gonzalo López-Gallego’s Cast Includes Patrick Wilson, Lynn Collins, James Belushi, and John Leguizamo
David Fernandez Jr. has been cast in Spanish director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego’s The Man on Carrion Road alongside some of Hollywood’s top actors. Atlas Independent‘s The Man on Carrion Road, is the violent crime/thriller about a small border town sheriff (Patrick Wilson) and retired lawman (Ian McShane) investigating a botched cartel drug deal and a mysterious butcher (John Leguizamo) terrorizing the town residents. Fernandez will play Eugenio, a badass member of the cartel.
Lopez-Gallego (Open Grave and Apollo 18) directs the script written by newcomer Nils Lyew. Information about the characters of cast members Lynn Collins and James Belushi not yet available.
William Green, Aaron Ginsburg, and Andy Horwitz of Atlas Independent are producing. MICA Entertainment is financing with Relativity International selling the film overseas. Production has begun in Utah.
Fernandez, a San Diego native, is best known for the role of Spooky in the award-winning film End of Watch starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, and as Omar in Across the Line, starring Academy Award and Golden Globe Nominee Andy Garcia. Fernandez recently completed the Lionsgate Release of R. Ellis Frazier’s Dead Drop starring Luke Goss, Nestor Carbonell, and Cole Hauser. CineLatino TV is airing six films featuring Fernandez. Currently, Fernandez co-stars in USA Network’s upcoming original comedy series, Benched. Other TV credits include FX’s Sons of Anarchy and Justified, and Showtime’s Weeds and Don’t Trust the B___ in Apartment 23.
