Danny Trejo In Negotiations for “In The Blood”

A John Stockwell film costarring with Stephen Lang and MMA Champion Gina Carano

Our favorite action hero, Danny Trejo is in negotiations to play a thug named Big Biz in director John Stockwell’s new film, In The Blood. In the film, Trejo will face off with MMA champion Gina Carano (Haywire). Carano plays a grieving wife passionately and recklessly in pursuit of the men who she believes kidnapped and killed her husband.

Stephen Lang plays Carano’s father, who is as tough and brutal as his daughter.

Script is written by Bennet Yellin and James Robert Johnston which was polished by Sean Finnegan and Gregg Parker

Trejo has been busy working on several films now in post production: Machete Kills (Robert Rodriguez), Vengeance (Gil Medina), Mucho Dinero (Blake Freeman), and Death Race: Inferno (Roel Reine). Carano is currently filming The Fast and The Furious 6.

Verso Entertainment’s Cash Warren is producing alongside Marina Grasic (Crash) of Cargo Entertainment with Movie Package Co.’s Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield (The Messenger).

London-based Derby Street Films was intricately involved with the development of the movie. The company quietly has allowed for script development in a climate that sees studios cutting back on development and worked on a dozen projects in the last year.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin November in Puerto Rico with production partner Pimienta Film Co. (The Men Who Stare at Goats).
