Concepción Lara, one of the pioneers of the exploding global Latino marketplace and the key force behind the creation of HBO Olé, HBO Latino, received the 2015 Leadership Award from the United Nation’s Time For Global Action initiative, at a special ceremony in New York City this past May 1, 2015.
A member of the Board of Directors for Women In Film, the pre-eminent non-profit advocacy group for women in the entertainment industry, Ms. Lara will join the Leadership Council of the Media for Social Impact over the summer and help create what the UN is calling “The World’s Largest Media Campaign.”
The UN will call on global leaders from 193 countries this September to commit to working together on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that address many of the major global challenges of our time.
Ms. Lara was singled out for her efforts to drive social change through the media.
