NationalCommonSenseDay1

Live-Stream Events Scheduled for May 26th & 28th

In an effort to restore rational behavior in America, actress/comedian Lydia Nicole, also known as ‘Common Sense Mamita’, is kicking-off the first-ever “National Common Sense Day” on May 28th, 2015.

To commemorate the day, Lydia will be live-streaming simultaneously on Periscope and Meerkat on both May 26th and May 28th at 5:00 PM Eastern and Pacific Standard Times. The four separate 30-minute segments will involve a live Q&A with the Common Sense Mamita offering fans a special dose of her streetwise wisdom and tips relating to family, relationships, money and career.

Lydia first created her Common Sense Mamita ‘edutainment’ vlog online 18 months ago, which was instantly picked up by Latin Heat Entertainment (LatinHeat.com). Today, the segment has become a weekly fan-favorite, delivering Latino’s a hilarious in-your-face dose of ‘tough-love’ honesty about all aspects of their life.

Expanding her Common Sense Mamita voice further, Lydia recently launched a weekly blog for the popular web-radio podcast Robles & Rosado, hosted by Emmy-winner Mike Robles and news personality Pedro Rafael Rosado. In addition, Lydia draws attention to the need of common sense through her daily social media posts.

Lydia upholds, “I’m on a mission to restore common sense in this country. If you’ve been paying attention to the news and pop culture lately, then you’ve probably noticed we’ve lost much of our common sense. I believe we desperately need to get it back!”

National Common Sense Day participants must have a Twitter account to connect to Periscope and Meerkat. Periscope and Meerkat can be downloaded through the Apple App Store and Meerkat through the Google Play Store.

Previously voted by Hispanic Magazine as one of the ‘Top 100 Latino Comics’, nothing is off-limits for Lydia who considers herself an optimist, storyteller and potty mouth. Lydia’s acting career spans over 30 years, guest-starring in numerous television shows and films including the Oscar-nominated film “Stand and Deliver” starring Edward James Olmos. Lydia is also a producer with numerous credit under her belt including Robert Townsend’s latest romantic comedy film.
