Chuti Tiu continues her role as the fierce litigator, Tara Ashton in the ABC musical drama hit series Nashville. Tonight’s episode entitled, The Trouble With The Truth, chronicles the latest development in the rift between Maddie and her parents, an interview gone wrong involving The Execs, and a well-intentioned Luke Wheeler gesture backfiring.
Tiu says her parents always wanted her to go to law school, instead she got the acting bug and now plays one on TV. A classically trained pianist this former Miss Illinois beauty queen hails from Chinese, Filipina and Spanish descent and is a native of Wisconsin where she graduated from Northwestern University.

Tiu’s character, Ashton fiercely fights for the underdog with a tough, yet compassionate demeanor. She represents Maddie Conrad (Lennon Stella), Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) daughter who wants to emancipate herself from her parents. In tonight’s episode The Trouble With The Truth, Maddie must testify about her relationship with Deacon (Charles Esten). Emotions run high and secrets are revealed as attorney Tara Ashton delves deep into the past blindsiding Rayna and Deacon.
