Chicano Rockabilly Film “Cry Now” US Theatrical Run Using TUGG

Plus Entertainment brings Chicano film to US audience


Los Angeles, CA – Plus Entertainment, a provider of Latino content, is bringing award-winning Cry Now a lyrical love story set in the Chicano Rockabilly culture to theaters on February 22, 2017.

“We are committed to promoting American Latino stories to the Latino audience as well as the general audience. Cry Now is an American story, an artistic love story told with an American Latino cast.” Said Pejman Partiyeli president of Plus Entertainment.

To do this Plus Entertainment is using TUGG.com. TUGG is a crowd-sourcing platform that gives people the ability to bring the movies to their local movie theater without any up-front-costs. The screenings can even be used as fundraisers.

Cry Now is a highly anticipated feature film by Cinético Productions, produced in association with Troy Entertainment with Plus Entertainment is releasing.  The film is directed by Alberto Barboza and stars Miguel Angel Caballero, Iliana Carter, Mina Olivera, Alex Meraz, Sal Lopez, and the iconic, late actress Lupe Ontiveros.

The red carpet premiere of Cry Now is scheduled for February 22, 2017 at the North Hollywood Laemmle. The cast and crew will be present and there will a special dedication to late actress Lupe Ontiveros whose role in this film was on the of the last she filmed before her passing in 2012.

The film follows the electrifying sexy encounters between Vincent (Miguel Angel Caballero), a street poster artist, and Luzy (Iliana Carter), a tattoo designer. But Sofia (Mina Olivera), Vincent’s obsessive ex-girlfriend, is not ready to let go.

The original artwork featured in the film was designed by world renowned graffiti muralist El Mac. The soundtrack for Cry Now is also composed of songs by some of the most prominent bands in the independent Los Angeles music scene. The film features live performances by vallenato band Very Be Careful , Rockin’ Blues band The Doghouse Lords, Mexican regional band Hermanos Herrera, and rising star balladeer Irene Diaz.

The premiere will be followed by a hosted after party with a special performance.
