The best of the best of the Milwaukee Hispanic community gathered to celebrate the success of many local professionals in different areas. The story of Susie Jimenez, the daughter of Mexican migrants who picked cherries and peaches along the west coast was illuminated. Jimenez became a celebrity by winning the hearts of food lovers for her participation in a reality competition on the Food Network, after which she co-host the show Sabores de Familia on Utilisima.  Her most recent success is the opening of her own restaurant Trenza in Houston Texas.

The HPGM’s mission is to support young Latino professionals with guidance, leadership training skills and scholarships.  Governor Scott Walker recognized their work via a moving video message directed at the organization and the gathered audience.

The master of ceremony was the beautiful and talented Colombian TV Anchor (Telemundo, Wisconsin) Sandra Torres who did a great job welcoming everyone, and introducing many wonderful keynote speakers.  Susie Jimenez and Pfister hotel executive Chef Brian Frakes prepared the delicious five start menu.

The star of the evening, and the person responsible for the fun and inspiring night was Griselda Aldrete, who is the executive director and the face of HPGM.  Aldrete received many complements all night from guests and speakers, with good reason.  She not only reached her goal of raising $200,000, HPGM was able to raise more than $250,000 for scholarship.  An impressed Palomarez predicted Aldrete would be one of the future woman leaders of our country.
