Catch Her In Sin City: A Dame To Kill For In Theatres August 22

Austin, TX —  Singer/songwriter and Austin-based rocker Patricia Vonne, who is sister to director Robert Rodriguez, will reprise her role as “Zorro Girl” in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, coming to theatres on August 22.

Patricia Vonne’s love of music was born early on growing up in San Antonio, the fourth of 10 children. She is an alluring and fervent performer whose smoky voice and sultry dancing have earned her wide international appeal.  Patricia’s fifth release Rattle My Cage, prompted The Austin American Statesman to declare:  “I was not prepared for the force of this singer’s new LP, Rattle My Cage, which represents everything good about Austin music.”

In the album, Patricia collaborates with some of the biggest names in the Texas music scene that have inspired and informed her music:  The late Doyle Bramhall, Alejandro Escovedo, Rosie Flores and Johnny Reno.  The San Antonio Express News, her hometown newspaper, raved: [Rattle My Cage] “ is her best, edgiest and most focused album yet.  The image is tougher; so is the music.”

As Escovedo notes: “You can’t take your eyes off Patricia when she’s onstage.  The power of her performance and the romanticism of her songs creates a real mystique, a very heady concoction.”  Watch Patricia Music Video

Patricia has also acted in several films directed by her brother Robert Rodriguez, Machete Kills and Sin City 2:  A Dame To Kill For, in which she reprises her role as Zorro Girl.  She also appeared in Sin City, Four Rooms, Desperado and Spy Kids.

Patricia represents a new wave of American performers who fuse together their Latin roots with rock and other American styles to create a beautiful new sound.

Her Mexican-American father studied music in college and played drums and her Spanish-American mother played guitar and sang Latin folk songs for the family.

She knew she wanted to play music when she saw her first concert ever:  Reno and the Sax Maniacs.  Patricia moved to New York in 1990 to pursue her music where her decidedly Texan sound would blossom.  She would ultimately move back to Austin.

Patricia has forged a formidable following in both the United States and Europe where she tours every summer.  An accomplished songwriter, Patricia won the grand prize in the Latin category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and second place Latin song in the Billboard Songwriting Contest.
