Los Angeles, CA – Actress, covergirl and TV host Andrea Garcia, daughter of the iconic actor Andres Garcia talks exclusively to Latin Heat about her new life in Hollywood and about her reality hit show, Rica Famosa Latina.
LATIN HEAT: What made you decide to accept to be part of the reality show Rica Famosa Latina?
Rica Famosa Latinas
Andrea García: It was a challenge for me. I am a very private person so I decided to get out of my confort zone. At times I feel I am part of a social experiment.
LH: You have described yourself as an easygoing, easy to get along person but also as a lone wolf. How does that work on this reality show?
AG: I feel I was able to find balance in my life. Once you do that, find that peace then and only then you can support others.
LH: How were you influenced by your father, iconic actor Andres Garcia to pursue a career in entertainment?
AG: My Dad encouraged me to work hard. He taught me to see problems as opportunities to grow and be able to experience anything.
LH: How do you compare working in Mexico vs working in the U.S.?
AG: Things are more organized here, which I like.
LH: What are some of your goals for 2016?
AG: I want to continue building my career in the United States, be part of new and exciting projects.
LH: What have you learned from being a reality TV star?
AG: In real life if you don’t like the actions or attitudes of other people, you can just put boundaries and select with which people you want to have in your life. That is an incredible power. On a reality show you can’t be selective. You are thrown into situations that you just can’t walk away from. Therefore you are forced to understand other personalities at a deeper level.
LH: When you saw yourself on camera on RFL would you say it is an accurate portrayal of who you are?
AG: I would say not really. You are stuck on extraordinary situations. However I have seen myself reacting in ways that surprised me.
LH: What do we have to look forward in the next season of RFL?
AG: To improve and expand the friendhsips and bonds we had on Season 3. I can predict a few explosions.
LH: How would you compare RFL with Beverly Hills Housewives?
AG: Different cultures, same issues.
LH: What are some of the plus and minus aspects of being in a reality show?
AG: On the minus side, you are pushed to the edge in some situations. On the positive side, you learn a lot about human nature. You can also learn more about yourself.
LH: How are the dynamics with your fellow cast members different off camera?
AG: I can honestly say I have great friendships with some, and just the opposite with others. You will have to watch the show!
