Los Angeles, CA — Cuban actress Ana De Armas (Hands of Stone, War Dogs) has joined the cast of Three Seconds, an action-thriller written by Matt Cook, based on the best-selling Swedish novel by Anders Roslund and Börge Hellström. Andrea De Stefano (Life of Pi) is directing.
De Armas will play the role of Sofia, the wife of a criminal and former special ops soldier Pete Koslow starfing alongside Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Jack Reacher), Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad, The Killing) and Clive Owen (Sin City, Children of Men).
The story follows reformed criminal and former special ops soldier Pete Koslow who, in order to free himself from jail and return to his wife and daughter, has been working undercover for crooked FBI handlers to infiltrate the Polish mob’s drug trade in New York.
Thunder Road’s Jonathan Fuhrman and Magnolia Entertainment’s Shelley Browning are exec producers. Three Seconds is currently been revised by Andrea Di Stefano, who recently wrote and directed Escobar: Paradise Lost starring Benicio Del Toro and Josh Hutcherson.

De Armas was born in Cuba and at the age of 14, began her studies at the National Theatre School of Havana where she graduated. She made her first film at the age of 16, Una Rosa de Francia (2006), directed by Manuel Gutierrez Alarcon. In 2014 she moved to Los Angeles, California. She next can be see in Blade Runner 2049 with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.
