Alfredo Sánchez Named Telemundo’s KDEN News Director

Denver, CO –  Telemundo Denver/KDEN today named Alfredo Sánchez News Director. In this role, Sánchez will be responsible for the overall performance of the station’s news department across multiple platforms. He will report to Andrés Chaparro, President and General Manager of Telemundo Denver. His first day at KDEN will be May 1.

An award-winning journalist, Sánchez has more than 20 years of local broadcast experience and joins Telemundo Denver after working at several Telemundo stations, including Telemundo 39 Dallas-Fort Worth / KXTX and Telemundo Houston / KTMD since 1999.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work with Andrés and the Telemundo Denver team,” Added Sánchez. “The news team has done a fantastic job at establishing the station as a local news leader and I look forward to working shoulder to shoulder with KDEN’s amazing team.”

A recipient of eight Lone Star Emmy awards, Sánchez earned a bachelor’s degree in Arts and Broadcasting from Louisiana State University and a Master’s degree in Journalism from Texas Southern University. Sánchez is also the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship, a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and a member of USA Track and Field’s Masters program. He will be relocating to the Denver area.
