Actor David Barrera Joins Hulu’s “Chance” Season 2

Los Angeles, CA – Actor David Barrera (NYPD Blue, Criminal Minds) has joined the cast of Hulu’s drama series Chance, a psychological thriller based on the novel by Kem Nunns, Tapping the Source.

Barrera’s character is a recurring role opposite actor Hugh Laurie and is set to air in the second season of Chance. He will play the role of Sid Velerio, a weary police detective in charge of an investigation into a body dump on the headlands.

The series is a provocative psychological thriller that focuses on a forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.

Alexandra Cunningham and Kem Nunn, serves as Executive Producers alongside Michael London and his Groundswell Productions, Laurie and Abrahamson.

Barrera has guest starred in several shows such as Disney Channel Original Series, Wizards of Waverly Place, Flicker, and in the fifth season of American Horror Story.

He was born and raised in San Juan, Texas, and received his BFA from Southern Methodist University on a Theatre scholarship.

Barrera is married to actress Maria Canals–Barrera with whom he has two daughters
