Miami, FL – It’s the first day out for NATPE and already the deal are being announced.  BMP Latin, a division of Bunim/Murray Productions, producers of The Real World, Project Runway and Keeping Up with the Kardashians and a Banijay Group company, announced that they have signed development deals with top Latin talent, including Emmy Award-winning journalist Lauren Sanchez and film and television actor Adam Rodriguez (CSI: Miami).  This underscores BMP’s commitment to producing content for Latino audiences, specifically in the 18-34 demographic.

Sanchez, Extra’s weekend host and contributor to Good Day LA, Showbiz Tonight andThe View, will partner with BMP Latin to executive produce and host a syndicated talk show format with the working title Generations, featuring a multi-generational panel of Latin women discussing everything from the personal issues they face to the social and pop culture topics that matter most to them.

Rodriguez, best known for playing Erik Delko on CSI: Miami as well as roles in Ugly Betty and Magic Mike, will work with BMP Latin to develop and executive produce numerous unscripted series, some of which will highlight his personal interest in social and philanthropic issues.

“BMP Latin is incredibly excited to partner with Lauren and Adam, two strong and talented individuals who share our vision of creating new programming that connects with the large—and growing—US Hispanic audience and beyond,” said Julio Caro, Executive Producer, BMP Latin. “They truly define our demo.”

“Working with Lauren and Adam provides the opportunity to explore a wide variety of programming,” said Gabriela Cocco-Sanchez, Vice President, BMP Latin. “From a syndicated talk show format specifically for Latinas to the social and philanthropic pursuits of a leading actor, our upcoming projects will offer fresh programming for an audience that is currently being underserved.”

“Using the unscripted space to tell stories that not only entertain but positively impact the audience has always been a goal of mine, and I am extremely excited to pursue it with a partner who not only pioneered this format, but continues to thrive in it.  Bunim/Murray understands that it is no longer about the ‘potential’ of the Latin market but rather the immediate need to be involved or miss out. I look forward to helping them once again be pioneers,” said Rodriguez.

“When it comes to sharing the voice of a culture, there is no better team than Bunim/Murray. I’m incredibly excited to partner with them to tell stories that reflect the energy, diversity and excitement of the Hispanic experience. There’s no question that there is a need for this programming – particularly in the talk space – and I’m proud to be able to help create authentic, compelling television for new generations of Hispanic viewers,” said Sanchez.

BMP Latin is currently producing Combate Americas, the first Spanish language Mixed Martial Arts competition reality series for mun2, which was co-created by Campbell McLaren, a co-founder of the UFC and the CEO of Combate Americas, the first Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise. The series is currently in post-production and will air in early 2014. It follows 10 professional Hispanic MMA fighters as they compete to win a coveted spot in the exciting new Combate Americas franchise. The company also has development deals with multi-platinum Latin Urban recording artist Daddy Yankee and the Leonardo Lopez family, a successful Mexican-American family living the dream in Encino, CA.
