Boxing Champ Jorge ‘El Travieso’ Arce's Story to Be Made Into TV Series

The life story of Mexican fighter Jorge “El Travieso” Arce, a multiple world champion, is being developed into a drama TV series by Tenacious Marketing USA, Fero International and Artistas Latinos.

The project follows the doc short about the fighter titled Jorge “El Travieso” Arce – Una Promesa de Vida that won an Emmy in 2021. The short was a co-production of TM USA Productions and Azteca America.

Reportedly, at age 10 Arce swore to God that he would become a world champion if his cancer-stricken father was allowed to live. He turned professional at 16 and went on to win five titles from the WBO, WBC and WBA. He retired in 2012.

The yet-to-be-titled movie will be exec produced by Alfredo Marino for Tenacious, Franco Neira for Fero and Michael G. Mora, who also worked in the award-winning short. Yecid Benavides Sr., Yecid Benavides Jr. and Johanan Benavides from Bolivia and Miami-based Artistas Latinos are attached as showrunners, production consultants and writers. Cesar Diaz of Miami-based 7A Media is attached as an international distribution consultant. El Travieso himself will serve as a consulting associate producer.
